Custom Aura Portrait

Send in a photo, and I'll create a custom pen and acrylic piece.

The process works best when the reference photo is clear, interesting, and well-composed. I love a moody, mysterious expression! My portraits are usually from the shoulders up. I can do full body sketches, but they will have very little detail in the face. Pets portraits are welcome and encouraged!

I never work from a grid, trace, or use an app to assist. I draw simply by looking at your photo. This means that the proportions might be slightly off. You can see the struggle to get to the image on the page. These pieces become not only a portrait of the subject, but a window into the physical experience and process of creating the image. Imperfection is a feature, not a flaw.

Archival and/or lightfast materials are used: 9" x 12" Arches watercolor paper, Uniball pen, and acrylic wash.

Your piece will not be an exact recreation of the detail, scale, and composition of your reference photo. A prop or two in the foreground is fine if that's what you'd like, but some background details might be excluded if that's what's best for the piece. I will use my artistic license to create something I hope you'll truly treasure!

After you purchase, you'll receive a form via email and answer a few questions, attach your photo(s), and suggest a color scheme.

Pieces will be completed and shipped out within 3-4 days of order date.
